LUSC Chairman's Remarks

The Chancellor and Chairman Board of Regents, Dr. David Oyedepo, the Vice President Education, Pst. (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, The esteemed members of management ably led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Engr.) Adeniyi Olayanju and my distinguished Pathfinders, all protocols are duly observed.
It is my honor and delight to bring this remark. We thank our heavenly Father for the privilege of graduation. He is the Caller and the Doer. Today will be incomplete without due gratitude to him.
Our entry into this Citadel of Learning was one like no other.
The array of individuals from all walks of life eager for a bright tomorrow and the furtherance of their hope via education was a sight to remember. A sea of expectations and faces deepened by an uncertainty of how to be fully called a pathfinder. Then our process began.
We have developed spiritual prowess .We have defined life as impossible without God. We have a firm foundation in sound Biblical principles. We owe our thanks to the Visionary of this Institution and the esteemed management.
The unique educational system hinged on our core values, hardwork, and challenging the norm drew us in quickly. We say thank you to all our teachers and lecturers. You have imbibed in us hardwork as a value never to be traded away.
We appreciate you because we have become a new breed.
My fellow Convocants I heartily congratulate you. We are those who have weathered the storms and obtained the prize. We have taken the lantern of higher education and equipped ourselves as worthy containers in character to lighten the dark spots in our nation.
We are Pathfinders.
I leave you with this advice and admonition.
Once again, our sincere appreciation goes to our father, the Chancellor for setting us on course with this unique Institution, to our Parents and Guardians for tirelessly investing in us.
We are indeed Grateful.
Long live the 7th Convocating Set, Long live Landmark University.

SCPC Chairman's Remarks

The chancellor sir, Dr David o. Oyedepo, all protocols duly observed. The chairman Lusc 2019/2020 session, the great 7th graduating class, warm greetings
Firstly, all the glory and praise is returned to God almighty for the privilege to serve in this capacity, I also appreciate leadership for trusting me with this enormous responsibility amongst many other qualified colleagues of mine.
I'd like to use this medium to congratulate my fellow pathfinders, who laboured and persevered to attain this great feat, many of us began this race but were not able to make it to the end for one reason or the other, this is a testament of the grace of God, coupled with our hard work, commitment, and the sacrifices we have all made over the past few years.
We draw from the wisdom of Martin Luther King who rightly said “the foundation of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education.” Hence, the exceptional core values that have moulded us into the pathfinders that we are today. I am convinced that as our undergraduate study has come to a conclusion, we have been fully equipped with the requisite knowledge and technical know how to bring about daily positive changes and solutions to problems that will in return greatly impact the world.
As our father, the Chancellor will often say, “the world is waiting for you, you can not afford to be wasting away, thus the necessity to embrace capacity building which is one of our core values as a watchword for life. J.F. Kennedy posed that “It is not just education we need but the right kind of education”. Ensuring that students are equipped with the right kind of education and in the same process transformed into a leading generation of solution providers is, the mission, passion, and commitment of Landmark University. The 7th graduating class consists of pathfinders who will survive all odds, conquer at all cost and scale great height. What a great honour it has been working and walking with a group of skilled leaders, great men, and women who are driven by the willingness to attain greatness and who possess an innate strength to conquer. This for me distinguishes these graduates as “pathfinders” from any other. Through the course of this academic journey, tenacity- the vehicle for success has driven us. We have had sleepless nights, dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s of steady streams of assignments, reading a lot of academic books and writing several tough exams. But we are here. We made it. As we know, writing an exam is a solitary task. Yet, the success of any graduate relies on the support system around them. A great deal of appreciation goes to all the people who have guided us through this journey, parents, sponsors, lecturers, etc. I would like us to always remember that life is a series of beginnings, not endings, just as graduations are not terminations, but commencements. Creation is an ongoing process, and when we create a world where love and compassion are shared by all, suffering will cease. Long live Landmark University, long live the 7th set. Thank you.

Best Graduating Student Remarks

I graciously wish to appreciate the Almighty God for this day and this height we have all attained. Looking back to when I stepped into Landmark University five years ago, it has only been by God's everlasting grace on my life that I have come this far. My heartfelt appreciation goes to all the individuals who have guided and supported me throughout this journey: my lovely parents, my sisters, my wonderful friends, Obla, Salome, Ogbulezie, Mayorkun, and many others. I would also like to thank my incredible lecturers, whom I was more than fortunate to have, and the entire faculty and students of the Department of Civil Engineering, who allowed me to serve as the President of the Student Association in my final year. Reminiscing on the words of one of my lecturers, Engr. O. Oluwatuyi "The problem is not that you don't know, but that you don't know that you know". This statement in its entirety gave me a push to understand the potentials I have and helped me grow in ways I cannot explain. In one way or the other, they always knew how to bring out the best in me and the rest of my amiable course-mates.
I thank the Landmark University management for providing a safe learning environment with an encouraging atmosphere and dedicated staff for us to develop ourselves and grow into the pathfinders we have become. I can confidently say that whatever impact we make in society as we move forward will be a product of the multiplication of your efforts in each of us. At this point, I’d want to congratulate my fellow graduates in the Class of 2020 for achieving such a significant milestone as this. Walt Disney once said, "All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them." Today is undeniably ours. A day to reflect on and celebrate our tenacity, sweat, and, yes, tears that went into the hard work that has led to our success. Each of us has had our own unique experiences; a blend of good times and bad times, times of joy and sadness. We all deserve great recognition and praise for the work we have done. At the very beginning of this journey – 4, 5 or even more years ago, some of us had a clear picture of our destination and others not so much. However, one thing was clear: there were countless opportunities available to us at Landmark University. There is a culture here, a way of life, a culture that encompasses all the seven core values of the University. This culture has made us grow not only academically but also spiritually, in wisdom and character. We have learned these past years to define life on our terms and not let external circumstances define us. Now that we've finally finished this fantastic chapter, we are now moving into a new chapter of our lives. Today, we are amidst a paradigm shift, torn between the joy of our memories and the hope of our future. I'm sure many of us are already looking forward to the next chapter now that this has come to an end. Unlike in a book, we cannot skim through the pages of life to see how long the next chapter will be. Every day that passes is another page we write in our book. Fortunately, as Landmark University graduates, we have been provided with all the materials we need to write our own stories, and I'm sure our tales will be extraordinary experiences to learn from. I want to end with this statement, "Your future can only get better through the hard work you put in today and the incredible choices you will have to make."
The Cheif Editor's Desk

“
History is not what it used to be but today, we decide to make history by leaving an imprint with both text and images showing our uniqueness as the 7th Set to the world. We had a goal from the beginning to make the 7th set’s yearbook completely different from the norm but in what way or in what form was not in details. Following through with the digital era, the wave of the pandemic and as we drew closer to graduation, we came up with the idea to have an E-Book.
This E-book paints a picture of both the profiles of the student in the 7th set and the University Management-The kings and the king makers. The business profile of our amiable students was also captured so as to promote and showcase these talents and skills to the world. Making this E-book was no easy task; but through hard work and determination pushing through with the core values as our anchor, we feel like we have accomplished our mission of making a quality and eye-catching year book.
Placing words side by side would not be complete without giving honor to whom honor is due. All thanks to God Almighty for his immense love, strength, protection and provision for every student in the 7th set for by him, we have finished well and strong in our academic pursuit from Landmark university. Heart felt appreciation to the entire Landmark University Management and staff for their support, guidance and due approval. I sincerely appreciate my team of innovative and creative minds for the countless hours spent in putting this book together from making the page layout to the taking of photos and attention to details. The 7th set is worthy of a standing ovation for their cooperation and contribution; indeed, it is priceless beyond words.
Throughout our years in this institution, we have all faced our own difficulties both individually and as a group. These difficulties gave us the opportunity to find ourselves and become what we are today. My hope is that even as the years go by, we continue to build on the opportunities given to us from this great citadel of learning. Finding the path, blazing the trail and reforming the world.
On this note, I present the Landmark university CLASS OF 2020 (THE 7TH SET) year book and I hope you all enjoy it.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Chika Ike-ojukwu
